In 2022, Awaneo and Betway South Africa collaborated to breathe new life into a neglected area of Orlando East, Soweto, transforming it into a dynamic sports hub for the community. Awaneo facilitated funding and ensured that Betway’s social investment led to a meaningful and lasting impact on the community.

The revitalized facility now features basketball, netball, and tennis courts, as well as a five-a-side pitch, providing accessible and safe spaces for various sports. This project not only created a venue for physical activity but also generated job opportunities and equipped locals with valuable skills.

Awaneo’s contribution extended beyond the physical renovation, helping to establish the facility as a sustainable platform for both sports’ participation and community development. By aligning Betway’s socio-economic development goals with tangible community benefits, Awaneo played a pivotal role in fostering long-term social upliftment in Orlando East.
